Due to the pronunciation in Japanese, the “R” sound is similar to the “L” sound, and the “O’C” was changed to “OK,” which became their band name.

In April 2005, four high school students from Horikoshi High School, Toru, Ryota, Alex, and You, formed the rock band ONE OK ROCK. In May, Toru invited Taka, a member of the band妫唴璐靛, to join as the lead vocalist. In July, they made their first live performance at NEW POWER GENERATION Vol.3 and then actively performed in Tokyo, with over 50 live shows. In December, the CD “Do you know a Christmas?” was released at the live venue and sold out immediately.
